This concert is dedicated to Medicine Frontiers in a time when there has been a massive escalation in the need for their services. Services which span the world and seek to meet the needs and reduce suffering among those who do not have ready access to everything from basic health care through to complex emergency services.
Hear the great composers from the C19 to C20: Brahms, Ravel, Scriabin, Ysaye and Shostakovich. Dmitry Shostakovich wrote:
“What can be considered human emotions? Surely not only lyricism, sadness, tragedy? Doesn’t laughter also have a claim to that lofty title? I want to fight for the legitimate right of laughter in serious music.”
