Great Outdoors
In Wollongong, experiencing the great outdoors is as easy as stepping outside.
Bordered by National Parks and golden sandy beaches, we really do hit the mark! There are plenty of spots to get your bearings and take in the views – from Bald Hill in the north, 180 degree ocean vistas at the Southern Gateway Centre to Mt Keira Summit Park overlooking the city skyline. Perhaps the ultimate view is from high in the sky with Touchdown Helicopters or 15,000 feet above tandem skydiving with Skydive Australia landing beachside in the heart of the city!
Speaking of beaches, this magic stretch of the coast has stunning beaches, surf breaks, and ocean pools along with year round cycleways, golf courses and mountain bike tracks to keep you entertained.
If your boots are made for walking, you’ll jump at the many bushwalking routes stretching from the Royal National Park to the Illawarra Escarpment.
Nearer to sea level, the Coast Track and the Grand Pacific Walk provide contrasting options with whale spotting May – November.
Whether you’re exploring the coast, the escarpment, or anywhere in between, a new adventure in the fresh air is waiting!
