Mountain Biking
Looking to shred? Head to Cringila Hills Community Bike Park* just south of the CBD, for 12km of sweeping green (easy) and blue (intermediate) MTB trails. There’s also a pump track, skills track and interactive playground for all-ages fun. The park can close at short notice due to adverse weather, check the website for opening status before visiting.
To the north, Helensburgh Off-Road Cycle Club provides a great intro to getting down and dirty. Start at the skills park and progress to their dirt tracks, before checking out surrounding informal trails and fire trails, including Cawleys Road. **Please note, this track has re-opened and work will be ongoing throughout the year to restore to pre-closure condition. Check the Facebook page for latest updates.**
World-class mountain biking is set to grace the Illawarra Escarpment, with significant funding announced by the State Government. The first stage of track building is due to take place in early 2023. Further afield, the Kiama Coastal Walk offers a stunning off-road ride to Gerringong.
