Steamers Bar and Grill is situated at 1 Marine Drive, Wollongong, which holds one of the most stunning views over City Beach and Wollongong lighthouse.
In Oct 2022, the restaurant won the award for best “Contemporary Australian Restaurant – Informal” at the 2022 NSW Australia Restaurant & Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence, their 3rd win in as many years, and cementing Steamers Bar & Grill as one of the best restaurants of its type in Wollongong and the Illawarra region.
Steamers Bar & Grill also won this award in 2019 and enjoyed more success with a silver medal at the national restaurant awards in the same year.
The food menu has been crafted to enable guests to explore the street food scene from around the world and delivers a wide range of small and large plates inspired by cuisines from all over the world.
Similarly, Steamers has an extensive beverage selection, allowing our staff to assist in pairing meal choices with a drink to make even more of the Steamers experience.
The restaurant’s name gains inspiration from the precinct’s food history. When the Illawarra was first settled, produce was transported to Belmore Basin, before being loaded onto steamships bound for Sydney’s growing population.
